My name is Heather Howard, and I’m excited to be your 6th-grade teacher this year. With 23 years of experience in public education, ranging from kindergarten through adult education, I’ve had the joy of teaching and learning with students of all ages. I earned my B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and my M. Ed. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Throughout my career, I've lived in six different states: Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Each place has added a unique flavor to my teaching style. In addition to my teaching journey, I love to travel. I’ve explored many amazing destinations, including Mexico, Ireland, France, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, and Scotland, as well as many wonderful places across the USA. Travel has broadened my horizons, which I love to share with my students. On a personal note, I’ve been happily married to my husband, Mike, for 28 years. We have two wonderful sons, Alex (22) and Nate (26). Our family also includes two rescue dogs: Kenlee, a retired Greyhound racer, and Chuck, a Staffordshire Terrier. I'm truly looking forward to a fantastic year with our 6th graders here at “The Trail.” Together, we’ll embark on new learning and grow academically, personally, and socially.
