    For the safety of all of our students and to follow the policies of ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û, we will implement the following procedures for car riders at Independence for the 2024-2025 school year.  Please read carefully!

    Morning:

    Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:00 AM. The doors of the school may be open, but we do not have any adult supervision on duty prior to 7:00 AM. 

    Breakfast will be served from 7:00-7:35 AM.  If your child wants to eat breakfast, please drop them off prior to 7:35 AM.

    Safety patrol will be on duty from 7:05-7:35 AM. each day.

    Please pull forward as far as possible when dropping off your student(s). When on duty, Safety Patrol will signal you forward. This allows for us to unload all students quickly and safely.

    Please have all student(s) exit vehicles on the curbside only.  If you cannot safely exit on the curbside, we request that you park in the parking lot and walk your student in.

    If you park and walk your student in, please cross only at the designated cross-walk. Wait for the adult on duty to stop traffic and safely wave you across.

    Please do not pass cars as they are unloading.

    Afternoon:

    Car riders will not be dismissed from class after 1:45.  If you have an appointment, you must pick your child up before 1:45 or wait in the car rider line.

    Afternoon car riders are dismissed from class at 2:05 PM. When they are seated in the cafeteria, we will begin calling names. All car riders should be picked up by 2:35 PM.

    All cars should have a car tag with the names of the student(s) they are picking up. If you do not have a tag, you will be asked to park, enter the front office, sign your student out, and have a car tag made. Your student will be called to the front office. Lost or extra signs can be requested from the office. You must be listed on the student’s emergency card to sign him or her out of the building.

    Please do not pass cars as they are loading.
