Kyra Corley

Hi!  My name is Kyra K. Corley.  I graduated from Winthrop University in 1995 with a Home Economics Education degree with a minor in Secondary Education.  I started my teaching career and met my husband at Fairfield Central High School after graduation.  In 2000, I moved to White Knoll High School as they started their inaugural school year.  I was honored and humbled to be named their first-ever Teacher of the Year.  I got engaged in 2001, which brought me to ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û! I started the Early Childhood Education program at Fort Mill High School in 2002.  Five years later, as Nation Ford High School opened, my husband and I made the move over to start our programs.   In 2010 my life changed forever as the Lord blessed us with our first-born child, and less than a year later, we were gifted with our second child.   In 2016 the Lord made it clear that I was being called back into the classroom.  However, this time I was to give middle school a try!  Being a full-time coach's wife and mom of younger kids while teaching "basic life skills" to 11–14-year old's was one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever experienced...especially POST COVID.  Now, after 6 1/2 years in middle school, it's time to move back to high school!    I am BEYOND excited about all the Lord has in store for me in this new season of life at Northwestern!  In my free time, I enjoy spending quiet time with Jesus, being outside camping/boating, and making meaningful memories with my family and friends.
